July 2017:  The 10th Theatre Architecture Competition (TAC) organised by The OISTAT Architecture Commission has just completed, arranged by our own Tim Foster as the competition organiser and Jury Chairman. The brief for the 2017 competition was designed to focus entrants on considering ‘theatre as public space’ in the setting of the Public Activity Centre site, a disused sports stadium in Hsinchu City in Taiwan.

The competition received over 100 submissions from 23 countries. Tim and the four other jury members eventually awarded the three top prizes to entrants from Taiwan, Russia and China and prizes were presented at World Stage Design in Taipei on 5 July. Tim chairs the OISTAT Architecture Commission and has been involved with the last five competitions in various capacities and 2017 is his second time as Jury Chairman.
