Hoxton Hall_1 2April 2014: The restoration of Hoxton Hall, a Grade II* listed Victorian music hall, is underway with the appointment of Fairhurst Ward Abbotts as contractor.

Phase 2 of the project focuses on the restoration and repair of one of Britain’s few surviving music halls. The top balcony will be opened for the first time since 1970 and other improvements include: new theatre lights, sound, ventilation, seating, an archive, resources and reading room, as well as refurbishment of the entrance area giving the hall a new presence on Hoxton Street.

Foster Wilson Architects has been working with the Hoxton Hall team since 2010 on a masterplan for phased development and restoration of the hall.

Constructed in 1863, the hall today is used as a community arts centre and for a range of performances and other events.
